Literature Text

She was called a shrinking violet as a young child
Her personality was kind, humble, sweet, and mild
The other children often made fun of her
They called her monkey ears or Dumbo as it were

She turned to books as her best friends
Even when some tried to make amends
She was apprehensive to let them in
Afraid the bullying would begin again

Books could take her to distant places
Far away from the unfriendly faces
Once they found out books were her passion
They called her nerd which turned her ashen

No matter what she did or how hard she tried
She never felt welcome so she cried and cried
As time went on their bullying got worse
She felt as if she were under some curse

She reached the point she could no longer take
Their taunting abuse and friends that were fake
She decided life was never going to change
Therefore. her demise she began to arrange

She found her father's gun and took it to school
She was tired of them laughing and being so cruel
They had always made fun of her with such hateful vigor
Standing in front of them she pulled the trigger

Sadly, the shrinking violet then bled and bled
When the paramedics came they pronounced her dead
Her family was heartbroken and filled with doubt
Her classmates were horrified she chose this way out

Why she had done it no one could understand
The principal told her parents bullying had long been banned
Soon a new shrinking violet they found to poke fun
They still hadn't learned their lesson, no not one!

You should get this poem published in your local paper; it has an incredible depth to it that most ignorant school administrators ought to be aware of.
